These are normally organised by your chosen Funeral Director, who will contact us to discuss the kind of service you are looking for - whether in church followed by burial, in church followed by cremation, or else a service held exclusively at one of the local crematoria. After an initial discussion with the Funeral Director, the person who will be taking the service will then contact the family involved, arrange to visit and to confirm arrangements and discuss the content of the service. It should be noted that we inevitably offer a religious service as laid down by the Church of England, although there can be plenty of opportunity for friends and members of the family to contribute directly to the service if they wish, by way of tributes, readings and so on. This can all be discussed in detail with the person taking the service.
It should be noted that we do not have the facilities to play recorded music during a service in St Peter's, although this is possible in the local crematoria.
If you need further details please contact Revd David Blackburn, the Rector, either on 01384-872556 or by e-mail: blackburn337@btinternet.com.
